Romantic Winter Wedding Inspiration
No matter what the couple’s style is, every couple wants their vision to come to life, to be unique, fun and extraordinary.
Style shoots have always interested me and for my very first shoot in 2018 my vision truly can to life. The perfect degree of simplicity, a touch of the first snow fall of the season and a hint of vintage decor, creating a perfect setting for the foot hills of the Rockies.
Rustic colored hues and tones were flawless for the month of October. This color palette parried extremely well with our vintage place settings, rustic barn wood table, elegant menu and place cards, the simplicity of a naked cake and elegant floral design.
This was my very first styled shoot I had ever planned and designed and I have to say it didn’t go as planned. The shoot was the first week of October and was suppose to take place near Nordegg, Alberta. We were to all meet at Allstones Creek to capture the couple with the stunning mountain views, the breathtaking colors of fall and the rich blue waters of Abraham Lake at this time of year. The evening prior the snow started to fall, the first of the season and I wasn’t sure if Kimberly the photographer I was collaborating with for the shoot was even going to make it to Rocky Mountain House for the next day. To be honest my first thoughts was of pure panic and what am I going to do with all the florals I ordered for this day and had already designed. I was at the verge of tears when I thought to myself “get it together, take a deep breath” this shoot can still happen, it is just taking a different direction then planned. As we all know we can not control the weather and as professional in this industry weather can take a wedding in a total different direction and there should always be a plan B when planning a wedding outdoors. So, I made a couple calls and to be quite frank this shoot turned out to be absolutely incredible! Not only did Kimberly make it to Rocky safely to photograph it all my vendors all came together to help me make it all happen. Pine Hills Golf Course were so gracious in allowing me the space to shoot indoors, and we captured the most stunning winter photos and what troupers our models were to trample through high snow piles to get the perfect picture. I am so grateful to work with such incredibly talents and generous people.
Not only did the shoot work out to be beyond anything I had even imagined, I also got to check a box off my bucket list as a florist. The shoot was featured in March of 2019 on Rocky Mountain Bride’s Blog
